Robyn had finished her sugar skull and has appliqued it onto it's denim background, enhancing the design with some free hand embroidery.
Susan had finished her "Ionian Embroidery Pincushion" which she started in a workshop in Bathurst. The workshop was held in February through the Bathurst EG with the tutor being Allison Snepp. It is a traditional Greek Island withdrawn thread embroidery. Susan enjoyed the workshop with Alison and is planning on attending more of her workshops.
Jenny had completed this bobbin lace Christmas bell decoration. The pattern came from an old Anna magazine and and DMC Cordonnet Special thread No 50 was used.
Annette had made some pear pincushion, inspired by one that Wendy had shown us in February. These ones were made from an old disintegrating tablecloth that had been stitched by her grandmother. The tablecloth had been used for special family occasions. The pincushions themselves proved a bit of a challenge, and a number of calico mistakes were made before the finished products were produced. Three pincushions in total were made, one for each of her sisters, and one for herself
This is a luggage tag that Annette has made from another of her Grandma C's many
embroideries.
Jenny had finally finished a cardigan that had been started a few years back. Made from Morris Empire "Clove" 100% merino yarn, the pattern is one that Jenny adapted from another. The full story of this cardigan can be found on Jenny's personal blog.
I wonder what we will get up to next month? Please pay us another visit to find out.
