This year promises to be a great one for stitching, after all we do have a small exhibition to aim for later in the year. More on that later as the year progresses. We had an informal get together on Saturday, with a great look at all the work on the walls at Guild HQ, a catch up with familiar faces at Summer School, lunch out, & of course the ever popular show & tell over a cuppa.
Goodies on show were as follows:-
Sheila had made this doll, designed by Nola Heart, from Cloth paper Scissors.
There was also this piece ( a snippet) from Sheila using french knots & raised chain band.
Jenny had been playing with more Teneriffe Lace,
as well as some drawn thread work.
There were also hearts for PassionART, to be displayed at the PassionART Outdoor Twilight Festival on Valentines Day.
This one made by Jenny features pieced fabrics & fancy machine embroidery stitches.

The next two by Robyn, one using white fabric & red crazy work stitching, the second one features white candle-wicking on red fabric.

Libby as usual had great show & tell. The above two pics are more snippits from her "4 Season's" series.

Show & tell as always was awe inspiring.
Details of wrapped pannels by Libby, "Winter" & "Autumn".
A running stitch sample by Sheila, inspired by a photograph.
This one was Cathy's, using a copy of an engeneering drawing .
Show & tell brought a small quilt from Sheila featuring her own hand dyed fabric & running stitch. The fabiric was dyed during a natural dying workshop with Kath Wilkinson.
There was also another basket made from scraps following the directions in "Cloth, Paper , Scissors"
This is the inside of the basket.
Robyn had made a bag to hold all her small brooches long term. Eventually the sections will all be painted.
Above is the lower section of another doll brooch in progress, to be added to the above bag.
Jenny had been making still more lace, this time a rose leaf worked in a combination of bobbin lace & needle lace.
